Early Saturday morning I went surfing at Three's and had so much fun. Only about 20 guys out and all outside. Me and dad cruisin' in the inside catching all the good waves. We stayed for about an hour and a half when my dad said we had to go in. I was so bummed.

We arrived at the HASA contest at Kewalo's at 9:00 am, the waves were big but I could handle. My heat (Girls 17 & Under) was scheduled for 11:00. I looked at my heat chart, I sighed, Kristen Quizon, Tory Titcomb, Shea Hodges, Lani Hunter, Mio Uemura and myself. I always have the hard heats, it's not fair but I just walked away. I got my board and went surfing.

"In 4th place in yellow, Carissa Moore." That's me. I almost made it to the finals. Shea edged me out by half a point.
